Ficlets

Between The Labels

I gaze in silence
Steady the boat
I feel a tickle in my throat
A cloud of questions on which I float
Reading poems that she wrote

I feel a flutter in my heart
God forbid we’re kept apart

I’m not sure what this feeling’s called
Between the labels it is scrawled
I cannot read, I do not know
Through acceptance of this

I grow.
