Nicole's expedition
“I’m bored. There’s nothing to do. You bore me. Do something exciting.” Nicole complained to no one in particular, seeing as no one was there. She was perched on the edge of the window of their fourtieth story apartment, dangling her tiny legs out above the city. Her gorgeous, glowing wings were humming with movement. Nicole, bathed in their eerie light, looked like a little glowing speck. She flew out the window and across the street, down a few stories, and into a Chinese restaurant. She hovered in a corner, watching the people, who were oblivious to her. Nicole snorted indignantly, and flew out into the street, where she was almost hit by a speeding taxi. She screeched in frustration as she flipped through the air, tossed away by the wind the car created. No one heard the high pitched squeak she created, or saw the tiny little finger she flashed as she flipped off the taxi, now fading into the distance.
Nicole flew back up to the window, watching traffic for a few minutes, then examined her toes.
