rainy day
The day dragged on, it dragged on like a dinosaurs tale. Slow and heavy. I sat in the window seat, watching as the rain pelted down on the window pane. Thump thump thump. Dark and gloomy, my mind wandered to sunnier things, like the ice cream truck and the beach.
I picked up the rubber ball and started throwing it against the shelf. Thwrap thwrap thwrap. My mom popped her head in and ask what the hell I was doing, banging my head against the wall. “Gee Ma, very funny!” I retorted. I was in a foul disposition for the rain had ruined my plans of hanging at the beach with my pals, and working on our tans.
All it has done for the past week is rain, and when the weatherman finally said “Thursday, sunny in the high 90’s” I whooped and got on the phone to my girls and made plans. I should go down to the station and take a switch to that weatherman!
The rain stopped, could it be? The sun peeked through the clouds, is it? I went to the door and opened it and was amazed at how hot it became. WAHOO !
