Wow, I knew (or at least strongly assumed) it was coming, but it really feels terrible knowing something I’ve loved so much is going away. I thank you as well, because you were one of the first people to read my stories and comment on them. And I’ve enjoyed your stories as well.
You hit the nail on the head. The writing was great, but what were almost even better were the commens. They lightened my day, made me improve, let me in on a smidgen of the comment-leaver’s personality. shakes head sadly Here’s hoping for the best. If worst comes to worse, here’s hoping we all stay in touch.
Thanks for the nod, buddy. And yes, the ficlets themselves are being archived, though not the ‘mature’ ones (something to do with how the “crawler” works and code and programming and stuff or something). I’m not sure what the accessibility will be, but they will be stored.
I write all my Ficlets in an MS Word document before copy/pasting them here, so I’m not too worried about losing those. However, the comments will be a sad loss. Maybe someone at AOL will have the common decency to export the database for Kevin to use on his archive? You were the first person to comment on one of my stories, even if it was to say that I should have marked it mature, I still appreciate it. I hope something will come along to save the community that has been built here.
