I think that you make it available for guests to read all ficlets, but not comment or write of course. And that allowed to write authors should be assigned to write anything in the user’s collection. I like that idea. And an idea of my own: see if you can make it so that authors can upload pictures along with their ficlets. Probably just one picture per ficlet though. I don’t know if that will be easy or hard for you. Just an idea. But good luck with Ficlets 2.0. *

The problem with allowing authors to upload images is the potential impact on disk space and the liability for the content of the images (porn, specifically). I’m not a prude, but having somebody upload kiddie porn to my hosting would be a bad, bad thing. I’ll have to think about that suggestion…

I’ll probably proceed that direction unless someone offers a compelling argument against allowing guest to read mature and non-mature ficlets or allowing guest authors an all-access pass.

4. I think it’s important to show a ficlets inspiration, especially if it’s a picture. But if it’s a sequel, and there’s a link to the prequel, then it doesn’t need to be said twice.

Agreed with Dreamt of Turqouise, except I don’t know if guests should be allowed to read mature rated ficlets… Might lead to complications…
