The door slammed behind him, and made him jump. The icy top resulted in him falling flat on his face.
As Dewey started to get up the light changed as someone’s shadowed came into his line of sight

Dewey awoke sharply to the severe thunderstorm outside his windows. His chilled body shook as another lightning bolt struck the intensified air.

Dewey qucikly pushed back the covers of his bed and tip-toed over to the window seat. Dewey loved thunderstorms; especially the rain. The moon iluminated the sky as Dewey watched the storm starting to clear. The stars came out, perfect for wishing. But they never came true.

I guess they are just there for hoping.
