Casimir raised an eyebrow. “What did they say?â? he asked curiously. “If you don’t mind me asking, that is.â?
“Well,â? I said, taking a deep breath, “long story short, they called me a weirdo and an alien. I told them how I was found and that I was adopted, which I probably shouldn’t have. But it doesn’t matter now.â?
“They might be impressed by the fact that you brought a boy to camp with you,â? Casimir remarked lightheartedly. I giggled in spite of myself.
