Ficlets

Typical Summer Day

Rose rolled down the windows in her red Chevy and she adjusted the sun dress she wore over her bikini. Speeding down the country roads, she blasted Def Leppard on her iPod. Respect the classics, man, she thought grinning.
At the cabin she was quick to strip off her dress and spray canned sunscreen all over her self. She glanced at the spf. Oh boy, an spf of 8! Yay, skin cancer!
She looked out the large window in the living room of the lake cabin and saw her twins tied to the dock waiting for her.
She smiled. A smile so rare to her face any of her friends would be shocked to see it. She grabbed her teal and purple lifejacket and the starter-key to the ‘97 seadoos. Great day to jetski. A light breeze, the sun glaring at the lake with its devilish rays of ultraviolet death. Perfect.
She straddled her jetski and rode into the middle of the lake. Scowling at the stupid speed boats and sail boats, she looked for something with a wake. Her eyes widened and her face glowed with excitement. Ferry time.
