A Magical Meeting (Quite literally)
“Hey!” Violet called to him. She had no name to call him by, but she called out all the same. He turned around looking puzzled, but the confusion melted from his face as a smile came across.
“Hi,” he said.
“Hi, I’m Violet,” she told him. “Sorry about bumping into you earlier.”
“It’s ok, it was really my fault, I wasn’t looking,” he assured her. “I’m Collin.”
“Nice to meet you,” Violet said. “I know this is kind of sudden, but would you want to take a walk with me down by the river? There’s something I think you should see.”
Collin was puzzled. Did someone actually want his company? “Well, sure. What is it?”
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you. You’ll just have to see for yourself.”
“What if I don’t want to go if you don’t tell me?” Collin said, teasingly.
“Well then that’s your loss, I guess. Trust me, it’s worth it. So are you coming or not?”
Collin was very curious. “Yeah, I’ll be there.”
“Shake on it,” Violet said.
When their palms met, the magic was palpable, tangible…real.
