Joe heard Kate gasping as she saw the small dining room table sandwiched in between the kitchen and living room; there was no proper dining room, but this location placed the table squarely in the view of the large windows on either side of the balcony entrance.

“Here we go,â€? Joe tried to keep the sarcasm down, “perfect home number twenty-five.â€? He gestured to the right, “A big living room,â€? and to the left, “a nice kitchen, and,â€? he waved at the windows, “just look at that view!â€?

Kate practically pranced over to the window, her straight, long, brown ponytail bouncing on her back. “Adam, come look!â€? Her excitement was obvious. “You can see everything from here!â€?

“And everything can see us,â€? Adam whined. “We’d have to buy very large curtains, and you know how expensive those are.â€?

Yes, thought Joe, you’d have to actually crack open your wallet. Take a picture of the inside. It’s likely to be the only time you’ll see it.

“We could afford that once we sold your couch,â€? Kate spoke sensibly.
