I'd Fight Dorothy, Dorothy Always Wins
One day, I stopped off at the Wonder Burger after work. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I figured one Wonder Burger and an order of Super Fries would satisfy the cravings, and then I could get back on track. I walked inside.
My wife was on line. I don’t know how it was possible, but somehow she had sensed my plan and beaten me to it.
“Oh, hi honey,” Dorothy chirped. “I was running late, so I thought I’d just pick up some burgers for the kids. You want me to get one for you?”
“No,” I muttered. “Just a grilled chicken salad.”
“Are you sure? It’s okay if you break your diet. You don’t have to suffer so much.”
“And hold the croutons.” I was practically growling at the counter girl.
