I really like the way you mix thoughts with descriptions. Showing and not telling is something I have to work on, and I admire those who can do it!

Not that anyone will ever read this again, but if someone does, the Baroness wound up with her own entire short story, way too long for ficlets, but I posted it elsewhere on the web if anyone is interested.

Very cool. It looks like your writing style hasn’t really changed much over the course of a year, but the formatting seems to.
As with all of your stuff on here, this was excellent. It seems like you had great fun with the Baroness’s name, and that really showed through. And I’m with Ana, I’d be interested to read the longer version.

I like how the piece conveys the sense of urgency the maid is feeling. Ditto on the longer version.

I loved the line about the other names for her in common use, particularly not in her presence!

And I would also be interested in the longer version!
