Ficlets

I stood there as I waited, for you, to turn back. I saw you turn and I realized you were gone. And just before I had a lock of your hair in my hands. I had your lips, between mine. The air was different, it was heavy and you heaved. I kissed each one of your cheeks as I pinched. And you giggled and you smiled. And you kissed me as I stared. And you held me, and my face. As you wiped my tears I stared deeper into you once you said that I looked at you like you were going to bite me. The end of the year, the precious end of our school year. The precious time we had spent. The delicious air I had wasted. I saw you turn and I realized, you were gone. And just like gift wrap, it was so temporary.
