Van Mantra's Orders
It took until Oct. 30th for the machines to form a line on the eastern boarder of America, and until that time they were motionless as the clouds of beetles they produced devored the nearby cities. On Oct. 31st, they all began to lumber westward in perfect synch.
They marched past the beaches and into the many towns, cities. and forests, their thick mechanical legs ramming their sphereical bodies into anything in the way.
Hundreds of miles away from the line of machines, in northern Ohio a stadium full of people who had migrated from the eastern cities, the first resistance began. Huddled around a dirty cot that had been set up, was a group of college friends form New York. The had all seen the machines coming from the ocean, and they had heard the roar. They had all felt the extreme depression pounce upon them, when one student grabbed up the blow horn he had purchased after Van Mantra’s commercials. The sound drowned out the roar, and they got away.
They now sat staring at the other random items.
