Unrequited Love
Of the many clouds in the sky, only one caught my eye. I was lying on the ground, the grass itching at my body, while the wind swept the shapeless clouds throught the sky. That is, they were all shapeless until this one. This one caught my eye because of the shape of a heart it seemed to take. Laughing silently, I closed my eyes and brought to my imagination the face of a friend, of whom I hadn’t seen in longer than I could remember. A friend of whom I missed terribly. At the time when I knew him he hadn’t been just a friend either, he had been a love unlike any other. I never knew whether he had loved me back though because I never took the chance to ask.
Now when I think of him though, I only think of the friendship he gave to me, the hours spent together under the willow tree across the street, and the secrets shared and made.
Opening my eyes, the cloud had tranformed, I now saw his face, beconing me to come to him. And so I sat there and took it all in, with all of my unrequited love and I was happy.
