Vanilla Sky
Time stood still. Or at least she thought it did. Savannah couldnt even recall how she had gotten there. It had started to rain but she couldn’t feel it. She was numb. A tear rolled down her cheek but she couldn’t feel it. She just couldnt believe it. As she watched the casket being lowered into the ground all she could think was “this is all a dream.” She kept blinking but she couldnt wake up from the nightmare. All she could see was the dew covered rose in her hand. It seemed to stand out against the sea of black. Everything else spun out around her but the rose stared her in the face. It mocked her, it laughed at her delusion of this all being a dream. She kept watching it as it slowly began to fade into the blackness around her. She stood to drop the colorless rose into the ground with him. She watched it fall slowly and gracefully, pausing long enough to hit the coffin with a light wet thud. As the color returned to it, it filled her vision and engulfed her. Then it all went black. She dropped.
