Realization
“Slain, you have it all wrong.” I said in a choked voice. The blow to my head must have hit harder than I thought.
“She’s playing us, you and me. I’ll bet she peddled the same one liner to us both, ‘Life is too short to-’”
”’Be with someone you don’t love’” Slain finished. He blinked to clear his head of the nonsense that Mandy was pushing. “Son of a-”
“I know. She’s just a bored rich housewife that wants to spice up her life with a few ‘bad boys’”
Slain pulled back the gun from my head and had me face him. “How long?” It didn’t take me more than a minute to realize what he meant.
“4 years” I responded.
He stepped back in surprise. I knew that Mandy had found a new man recently, and as she was cheating on her husband I didn’t think too much of it. Just another play thing before she settled down with me.
Then and there, Slain and I agreed. Mandy.
