The air always seemed colder by the lake. Anthony was fond of the way the breeze felt against his face though; it was as if it were inviting him into a new world, one he had lost so long ago with his youth.
Light was seeping through the cracks of the mountains, invading the night sky. Anthony sighed, pushing himself from off the damp grass. He looked to the west, where dense forest stood. The path was lengthy, he figured he wouldn’t make it in time to the castle before day set in. He would just have to wait among the trees until the night rose again.
Slowly he became more aware of his hunger. He figured he would have to find an animal soon. Blood was a valuble resource.
