Friends (1)

I walked into the room that I have walked into hundreds of times, but this time it seemed so different. The people in it were strangers to me even though I knew them all well. I looked around the room. One of the men I had known for years. He was the artistic one, the quiet one with radical ideas that could change the world. Another I had known equally as long. He was the engineer, the one with the sound mind and brains beyond belief. The youngest one I had known for the shortest amount of time. The musician. I used to have a crush on him, but who didn’t? His eyes were blue, he had the face of a child, and a talent that was growing with every day. The loud one making jokes from the coffee table in the middle of the room was my dad’s friend. He also was a musician, probably the best drum player I’d ever heard. He quit school with an architect scholarship to Syracuse in his pocket to pursue his musical career. His band was promising though. But the last man in the room was the one that caught my eye the most.
