I had just entered the workshop and poured myself some coffee this morning when a fellow coworker, Bob I think his name was, greeted me with a gigantic smile on his face.
“What’s going on?” I asked him, but he did not reply. Instead, Bob stuck out his hand and showed me the strangest little thing.
A miniature robot? Was this our company’s latest product?
“A toy?” I said before bursting into laughter.
Bob’s face grew red, and he quickly stormed out of the room. I laughed a bit more and then took a sip of my drink. That’s weird…
“You shouldn’t have made him mad,” the lady at the table said. I looked at her with a puzzled expression. “That toy is actually the nanotech research team’s latest creation. I heard that the tiny robots they’ve created can turn things into plants.”
“So what? They’re still just toys.”
She continued, “Sure, laugh now. But don’t come crying to me when you turn into a tree tomorrow. The guy, he left some of those robots in your coffee just now.”
