Just a Little Thought Today...
Just a little thought that day might have saved a life. No words would have been shouted. No tears of hatred shed. No punches thrown, and no trigger pulled. Just a tiny thought, from a small soul, might have made a difference.
If someone had held a door for him. If someone had offered a smile, and allowed the cashier to help him first. If someone had given to that food pantry. If someone had donated to that charity. If someone had stopped saying, “Let someone else do it today. Not I.”
Just a little thought, and I’d not be sitting here. I’d not be watching mourners. I’d not be hearing hymns. I’d not be drenched by salty tears. I’d not be silent in the crowd, as I am today for the first time.
Just a little thought today, and this grave might still be empty. Those flowers might never be thrown. Those tears might never even form.
Just a single, tiny thought of kindness, and I might still be alive.
Don’t you think it’s worth that little moment? Perhaps, to brighten a day?
Or save a life?
