Why them? (3)
Now these men weren’t anyone important. I mean, important yes, but not famous or really well known. They didn’t have much of value, all being in their twenties and single. Not completely single, three out of the five of them had girlfriends, me being one of them, but none were married. One engaged, but no one was completely settled down yet. Their jobs, some sound equipment, and the women in their lives were the most important things to them. Why anyone would want to hurt them is beyond me, but the men in the bushes were convinced there had to be something in there. They finalized their plans, recounting who would go where, with whom, why, and for what. After watching them for a week, they had learned the guy’s routines, who their girlfriends were, and what they thought was in the house. While the laughter inside grew still louder, the men made their way to the front door. They had split up, so one was also going around back, while another took the side door. Kicking the doors open, the men drew their guns.
