I used to believe that jealousy and misery were two of the more powerful of human emotions. But I’m starting to really believe that desperation should be at the top of that list. When you’re jealous, you’re desperate to feel or have whatever it is that you’re jealous of. When you’re miserable you can become desperate to not be in misery anymore. Anger can convert to desperation. And so can Happiness. Because if you’re happy, you can become desperate to hang on to that happiness. And it’s funny how desperation can also sound a lot like depression…
