The Day The Sea Stood Still
Van sat watching his glass, as the water inside made its way back and forth with the swaying of the ocean current. He wasn’t quite sure yet what he was waiting for but he knew it would happen soon. The watch his captors had kindly let him keep read 11:53 p.m. 7 minutes until October 28. He sat and focused on nothing but the waters movement waiting for a change to indicate the beginning. The minutes ticked by agonizingly slowly. Eventually the watch read 12:00a.m. October 28 and Mantra braced himself for the worst, and yet everything remained calm. He returned his gaze to the water and saw the most frightening thing he had ever seen. The water had stopped moving. The Sea was standing still.
“It’s begun,” he whispered, and then uttered a silent prayer in a language long forgotten. A language last spoken by the great Ethan Haas. Then began to prepare himself for he knew they would come for him soon. For he was the only one with the answers the world would so desperately need.
