The neighbourhood was a buzz upon the news of Jack Winston’s death. The fact that it was murder made it all the more shocking to the neighbours. Nobody however was more shocked han the officer in charge of the investigation Jack Winston III . The state of his grandfather’s body was horrible. It was cut into dozens of oddly shaped pieces. When Jack examined the body he realized the cuts were in line with his grandfather’s scars and that if he really wanted to the corpse could be reassembled like a puzzle. The most obvious puzzle was the writing “WE KNOW ” on the wall.
“What do they know?” wondered Jack. He moved to inspect the remains of his grandfather’s face. He was shocked to see one of his eyes was missing.
“Does anyone know what happened to his eye?” Jack questioned the room full of officers.
“Yes there was a glass eye lying near that piece of the body.” replied an officer.
“My grandfather had a glass eye?” questioned Jack.
“Yes. I suppose you could see it if you like.”
