Back at the Party
“Your adoring fans are missing you,” I said, looking pointedly at the large group of people that he’d been the middle of. They were still talking to one another, but not as easily as they’d been before. Possibly because every few seconds a few of them would look over at Max, waiting for him to come back.
Max waved at them but immediatly turned back to me. “Aww forget about them. I’m so glad that you came!” I shrugged, looking up at him. Like always. He’d been one of the tallest kids in class since the beginning. I was always the shortest.
“Soo…Why don’t you come and talk to them. I’ll introduce you. None of them have any classes with you, I asked.”
I looked at him blankly, then looked over to the group of people he was referring to. “Max, I have classes with five of them. They just don’t know me.”
For a moment his face fell, then he smiled that wonderful smile of his, the one that could get anyone to smile. “Well then it’s time they got to know you.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me over.
