She never quite understood the “three day rule” anyway. Her thoughts quickly changed to wondering if something had happened to him. Suppose he had been in an car accident. Would he be thinking about her right before going into surgery? What about the possibility that he had been kidnapped. Would he share with his kidnappers that he needed to live because there was someone special in his life (namely her)? What if he had been mugged and was even now laying in an alley waiting for help? Was he deliriously moaning her name as his preferred point of contact? Of course he was. If she felt the earth move when they kissed, he had to feel it, as well.
