Start the Movie
“One of the people there…a guy, he noticed me,” I began slowly.
At jus these words Max broke into a grin. Always wanting me to make friends other than him, he was no doubt thrilled about this. “That’s great,” he said.
“Sure,” I replied, frowning a little. “I don’t know. It was weird. I didn’t like him.” That last part was a lie. Because I did like him, I think…he just made me a little confused.
“Ooh-kay,” Max said, obviously waiting for more.
I took a deep breath, sighed. “His name was Jake. I don’t know, he was weird. I…I didn’t like him.”
Now Max frowned a little. “Hmm. Jake. He’s been to a few parties, I know him. I wouldn’t call us friends, but I’ve seen him around and talked to him a few times. What’s wrong with him?”
I shrugged, feeling my cheeks grow tingly again. Max smiled again. “Oooh. So that’s how it is. ‘I don’t like him Max, he’d weird, Max, I’m madly in love with him, Max.”
I reached over and punched him. “Start the movie.’
