Red Sky-A Memory of Blue Sky

Once upon a Christmas Eve,
I held her so close to me.
Her eyes looking deep in mine,
Our hearts together, entwined.

Sky was red in fiendish hue,
A sunset, for my love true.
Orange melded into gold,
And so my tale does unfold.

For my lady, oh so fair,
With her long and lustrous hair.
Parted from me in a crash,
That night as embers turn to ash.

She left me for Death’s cold arms,
Safe from any worldly harm.
Now she lies beneath the ground,
And lives up in heaven, bound.

Once upon a Christmas Eve,
I held her so close to me.
For that moment, what would I?
Underneath that bright Red Sky.
