It's going to feel great

She stood by the window looking out. It was still dark, but she could hear the rain hitting the windowsill. Ever since she decided to finally leave she had been looking forward to this day. This was it. The bag was packed, and she was just about to leave for the bus station. There was no turning back now.

She was bringing only what could fit in her backpack. What would she do? Where would she go? How would she get by? She didn’t know, and although she had thought she’d fear the uncertainty, now she felt strangely excited.

He hadn’t really done anything wrong. But she couldn’t remember when he’d done anything really right either.

The sun started to shine through the clouds. It was time to go. She picked up the backpack and headed for the door. As she walked outside she took a deep breath. She didn’t look back even once on her way to the bus.
