“How could this have happened?” Ritchie thought. His plan had backfired. Why wasn’t he rotting in hell for his crimes? He had killed his own mother and god was letting him live? What was wrong here? Did god want Ritchie to suffer more? Where could there be more suffering on earth or in hell? How would he ever know? There was a lot of suffering to be had on earth.
