It was exciting popping out the stopper and waiting for her own mermaid message but when she pulled out the small rolled parchment it was blank.

It shimmered in sun like it was filled with tiny particles of glass. And, she looked closer, she realized the bottle too, was rather peculiar. As she turned it in her hands she could see odd shadows drifting across the surface and almost thought she caught a glimpse of an image every few moments.

Despite her disappointment at the lack of a message the bottle was beautiful. She stuffed the paper back inside and decided to keep it.
