I Forgive You
Judas held back a little. She was not sure she was ready to see her father, the king.
“If you walk out that door with him, don’t ever come back.” She could remember him saying. “Are you ready?” Zooey asked when he’d appeared at her window. “I heard about these monks that can help us, Judas. Can you imagine?” His voice had been excited.
The man before her was not the man she remembered as her father. Her father was strong, robust. Quick to anger. This man was small. He tottered along toward her with tears in his eyes. Judas released Zooey’s hand, and stepped forward. “You’ve come back to me,” King Amudsen said softly. “Can you forgive me?”
“Yes, daddy. I forgive you.”
