Street Musicians and Photography

I’m standing on street corner in a sleepy little town, with my camera in hand. As the light flashes green, I walk to the other side of the street.

A pedestrian shopping area materializes in front of me as I turn the corner. Small shops, boutiques, cafes, and a few department stores line the narrow street filled with shoppers. Trees cast shade over a fountain set in the market square, and vines of ivy crawl up the old brick walls of a cafe. A large cathedral looms in the distance, creating a picturesque view against the partly cloudy sky.

I unzip the case hanging from my neck and pull out my camera. I look around to find that perfect first shot. I walk a bit further, down a different street, following the sound of two street musicians. One is playing a violin and the other a bass, creating a harmonic fusion of sound. I take off the lense cap and start snapping pictures.

This is what I do. I photograph people, anyone who interests me, anyone unique. And God knows this world is full of unique people.
