Wedding Day

He loves her. And he hopes he always will. Because it is an important thing to love. That’s why this day is so magical. Despite the decorations, the dress, and the dinner, it is really all about love. Giving of oneself to be loved till death, right? Yes, it certainly is a wonderful day.
He nuzzles closer, smelling the fragrance of the most important day of her life. Perfume, new material, sweat. She has never smelled better. He rubs his hand up and down her back. She is totally at ease with him. It’s as if no one else is even around. It’s just the two of them. Holding each other. His eyes begin to well with tears.
“Thank you for being part of this day. It really means a lot to me,” she whispers in his ear.
“I could never disappoint. A thousand horses would have had to drag me a thousand miles away to miss this beautiful day.”
Silence resumes once more. He basks in her glow. But as all good things come to an end, this one does too. She smiles at him. Then leaves his side to find her husband.
