In Short
“Oh, come on!” I exasperated. “This doens’t even make sense anymore! Would someone please just turn on a light?” I could hear a few uncomfortable shuffles in the darkness. “Aktorius!” I pleaded. “Tell them I’m not their ruler! Tell them!” He didn’t answer. After a while, I felt myself being carried to a smaller, lit room.
The walls were covered in airy flowers, and instead of a ceiling, there was a tapestry of paintings, each depicting the winged creatures I saw before me.
Their eyes were all green, and all of their hair a dull gray hue. Every last one of them had beautiful teeth. In short, I looked nothing like them. In short, it was clear I was not one of them. In short, I did hope they were right.
