Doorknobs are interesting things.

What exactly are they?

Simply something to help you open the door?

Or something deeper? Is a doorknob only that, or is it something that helps us indecisive creatures live easily?What is a door? Is it a wall that we can chose to place or unplace? When we want to be alone, pretend that there are no others, we close the door, sometimes even lock it using that interesting thing called a doorknob. When we want to be open, we open our door. When we want to be closed, we close it.

Or perhaps it is the key to a portal. In or out?

He was wondering these things as he stood outside the door, staring at that interesting little device called a ‘doorknob.’

But time doesn’t agree in stopping just to give one a time to think, and he didn’t really have much of a choice.

So he pushed aside his odd wonderings and opened the door and stepped inside, heading in to a complete change, a new life.

And, for now at least, he left his door open.
