Thank You (A Poem)
I witnessed your last breath
Lying there on the cold, ashen streets
I’ll never forget the look in your eye
As if you felt sorry for the world
That put you where you are
I want to hold you, put that light inside of you
That light you could have held
If you were given the chance
You were never fed
You were never held
You were never loved
Like every sentient should
But I love you
I only knew you for a second
But there was something in your eyes
A look that said, thank you
For not letting me die alone.
