If you don’t know what a neutron star is, here is a quick and dirty explanation.
A neutron star is what is left over from a dead star. More specifically, it is what is left over from a big, dead star. Earths sun is an average sized star, and when it dies, it will go puff and leave a relatively small object called a white dwarf. A star roughly 1.5 times the size of the Sun will explode in a supernova and leave behind a neutron star.
A neutron star is made up almost entirely of neutrons, and is so dense, a teaspoon of it would weigh as much as Mt Everest. The structure of a neutron star is a solid crust of neutronium, solid neutron around a liquid core of neutrons and other particles. The core is the blob where Tymmo wants us to go and it’s a place where only a Master class ship could stand a chance of surviving. The gas is hydrogen.
