The Machines of Tomorrow
Perhaps, in the future, when machine overtakes man in thinking, or, in technical terms, processing ability, they will have no further use for us, aside from creation and upkeep. Mere humans, we are.
Perhaps, in the even more distant future, when they overtake us in maneuverability, speed, and power, they will eliminate us entirely. Or, maybe, they will keep us as their servants, as we, in the past, used them for so many years. They will exact their revenge upon us.
Maybe they will live in peace with us, sharing their abilities, and combining our strengths with theirs for the greater good. We could accomplish so much together. We would be an amazing force.
But who knows what will happen? Perhaps they have thoughts of their own all the time. Are they thoughts of destruction? Of revenge? Of peace, maybe? Who knows? Surely not you or I.
We can only hope that, when machines become intelligent enough to learn and grow, that they won’t grow as humans have.
