Wilted Love
I stumbled out into the hall, the gun like an iron weight in my hand. There is no other way. I cant leave him I love him too much. quickly stashing it in my purse, I told my children (my sweet children) that I would be back. The night air was cold and crisp and slight snow started to fall. I knew who his lover was. She would never be as good as me, never. What was so special about her anyway. Sure she was younger, and prettier. But I am the mother of his children. My pace quickened and my heart raced. As i walked I made eye contact witha cop, and his gaze consumed me. He stopped and asked me where I was heading so early in the morning and inquired if he could escort me home. Something about him comforted me; like he knew what i was about to do. His eyes glowed with a passion and i knew that he was my guardian angel. He walked me back to my stoop and I invited him in for coffee. He thanked me but he was on duty and had to be on his way.
