You Shot Me

I woke with a start, a sharp pain shooting through my stomach. I open my eyes ever so slightly and look down. I sit up suddenly, frightening everyone.

“What happened here?” I ask, pointing to the bullet hole in my stomach area. I look around for examining equipment and check out the hole.

“You didn’t even take the bullet out!” I scream, right as Shade was about to say something. I very carefully pull out the small lead object and look at my feet. At least they were better. I bandage the wound up myself, being trained slightly in medical practice, and head out the door. My body, being more advanced than a human’s, would heal itself. I get followed by Shade, and I spin around.

“You shot me, didn’t you?”
