There’s something quite wonderful about the human brain, which allows for multiple thoughts to occur at the same time, or appear to at any rate.

What he was finding particularly interesting was that while one thought, was completely occupied with dealing with the very real physical world, indeed, comprehending the physics of the real world, there were at least two other considerably more introspective thoughts jostling for centre stage.

One of these thoughts was quietly recalling a magazine article dealing with the relative perception of time. Specifically, this thought had correctly identified that everything seemed to be in slow-motion, but that probably everything was normal, and it was he who was perceiving slow-motion.

A third thought, somewhat late to the party, was questioning the merit of temporal debate given the current situation.

It was about then when all the thoughts merged into a fizzing hiss of static, as the crash helmet yielded to the oncoming black taxi.
