Airport Poet

‘Clippety clop clippety clop, a female this way comes. The sound of her stilettoed adornments echoing through the terminal’
“Darn it!”
Kathy hated it when planes were late. REALLY hated it. Airports were not too conducive to creativity.
‘I’ll pass the time and write a line…’
Her pen trailed off and seemed to begin doodling on it’s own.
Kathy looked around her for inspiration. There wasn’t much to see, really. Seats filled with tired looking people who, like her, had found themselves the victims of another ‘wing de-icing’ fiasco.
Why, she wondered, did they not just keep enough of that stuff around? It’s not like they don’t know winter is coming.
She picked up her pen. “In the cave of the large metal birds, I wait for my time to come. A time when I can board the wondrous winged beast who will take me to warmer climes. A time that has been delayed because of compressed ice melter’.
