this is very good, does she suffer from mental retardation? it gives a good representation of the bittersweet innocence that reminded me of “to kill a mockingbird” or the beginning of “flowers for algernon”.
Lovely descriptions – it feels like you’ve got right into how it would feel to have the kind of difficulties this girl has. That last line is perfect, too, with just a hint of sadness behind it. Great work.
