Tuesday Afternoon
Poirot walked out the door of the office, now much more composed. He began to walk toward a small café. Hastings quickly rushed to catch up and fell in-step. “Poirot?â?
“Ah, yes, Hastings,â? said Poirot. “It has been some time since we last spoke. How has it been?â? Hastings spoke in an affirmative manner. “What have you come to see me for?â?
Hastings said, “I spoke to Mrs. Ariadne Oliver, the mystery writer. There’s been a murder in her family. Brother. She requested your services.â?
“And you made sure she knew of my price?â? Poirot asked. Poirot always made sure that his clients knew his price (which was quite high) and paid it…unless, of course, he had enjoyed the case enough to forget about the money.
