Last Shift, Part 3.
“Yeah, I know. But you know…small town.â?
The funeral had been for Mr. Simmons, a near-retirement school teacher. Noone had particularly liked him, but half the town showed up anyways. Not that half the town was a whole lot. He had tripped down the stairs and broken his neck.
“Well, I better get going and tape it. I’ll talk to you later…stop by my house before going home. Don’t forget!â? And with that, Kathy walked out the door and hopped into her car.
Sarah sighed and glanced at the clock again. It was only 9:18. 12 minutes left. She figured noone would be coming now anyways, so she decided to start cleaning up. Organize this shelf, pick up that bag of chips, put those boxes in the back…She was done in 5 minutes.
