Last Shift, Part 10.

He only smirked. “I only took the money and broke the door to make it look like a robbery.â€?
“But, why kill?â€? she asked desperately, stalling for time.
“I’ve always wanted to know what its like.â€? He said, completely serious.
“Why me?â€? she said, getting desperate.
He looked at her, thoughtfully. “Because you’re not special.â€? Oh, gee, thanks for raising my morale, buddy. “I’m indifferent to you. I don’t like you, I don’t dislike you. You’re just…there,â€? he finished dispassionately.
“But..but..shouldn’t you work your way up? Why right for killing a human?â€?
“I killed a dog.â€? Aha. Nice try, she told herself bitterly. “But it wasn’t enough. I only hit it with my car, not actually doing it myself. It didn’t feel good. Or maybe its because it wasn’t human. It didn’t count.â€? He paused. “Now. Get down on the ground.â€?
