{A Rose & Violet Poem} Awakened Love, part 2
As the sun touches
the eyelashes of a
hibernating bear,
or the petal edges
of a sleeping purple flower,
so came you,
the light which loved
and showed me
things new unto my heart,
inside my soul
like a caterpillar
building a silk nest.
A soul rejoices,
heart opens wide,
revealing the longtime
emptiness that was inside.
The lover enters;
not quietly, but with grace.
Come the promises
of a heart forever sacred.
Come the never
ending kisses
and the gentle knowledge
of the dimple in your chin
the sloping curve
of your nose
the darkened hairs
on your neck
and the way your hand
fits inside mine,
like a puzzle piece,
love too long a dream
in my heart
now locked
with you inside
forever to remain so.
