Getting Started

“Come on in.” he said. “Make yourself comfortable.”
I stepped inside and did one last double-check. Tonight was definitely going to be a one-on-one night because no one else was home. He led me over to the couch. “Sit down,” he said, directing me towards the couch. I stared at the walls and the vase on the kitchen table… everything looked so new, fresh, and as if it’s never been touched. But enough about me rambling on about their house, back to the date.

He scooted towards to me and put his arm around me, resting his hand on my shoulder. Thoughts we flipping through my head like when wind flips pages in a book. So it’s confirmed, he does like me, I thought. How can a man with such built arms be so gentle, I wondered. His cell phone vibrated across the coffee table as he went to go turn on the movie. I picked it up for him. “Mitch?” I said. “Oh, it’s O.K I don’t ha-” he said, getting interrupted by me. “Go ahead, it’s fine.” He reached over and answered.
